Inter Milan defeated Sampdoria impressively in an away performance in Serie A to maintain their push for Europe.
Sampdoria were beaten 0-2 at home by Inter Milan in Serie A, with each goal coming just before the end of each half.
Both were scored by Rodrigo Palacio. The 31 year-old Argentine striker first headed in an Alvaro Pereira cross shortly before the break, and later sealed the victory when Internazionale broke forward in the closing stages, firing home a powerful shot from Juan Jesus’ fine pass.
The match was a fine example of intelligent counterattacking football and clinical finishing from Inter Milan.
The Nerrazzuri had half the amount of shots as Sampdoria, but their more efficient attack won them the game, and they remain in contention for a European finish in Serie A.
