Tony Parker returns and inspires the Spurs to victory.
The San Antonio Spurs welcomed point-guard Tony Parker back from injury on Friday night, and the Frenchman returned with a significant impact as he scored 22 points to lead them to a 104-97 win over the Utah Jazz.
The win was the Spurs’ fourth in a row, which takes their record to the season to 53-16 as they continue to lead the way at the top of the Western Conference.
It was also a landmark win for coach Gregg Popovich, who became the 12th coach in NBA history to have won 900 games in the league.
However, after Marvin Williams’ last gasp three pointer, they did have to go to overtime to complete the job over the Jazz.
Yet San Antonio will be pleased to see Parker back out on the court, as he looks to regain his fitness ahead of the post season.
