OKC come out on top in battle of top two in the West.
The Oklahoma City Thunder moved to within a half game of the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night, following their 100-88 win.
Kevin Durant (25) and Russell Westbrook (27) led the scoring for the Thunder in front of a sold-out Chesapeake Energy Arena in their 55th win of the season, tying a franchise record in the Oklahoma City era.
There were various problems on the night for Spurs coach Gregg Popovich though, who withdrew Tony Parker with soreness in his shins having posted up just two points in just over 25 minutes of play.
Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard stepped up to contribute 24 points each, but it wasn’t enough as Gary Neal was the only other player on the roster to secure double scoring figures.
With Manu Ginobili already ruled out with injury, Popovich has some headaches ahead of the visit of the Atlanta Hawks, while OKC travel to Indiana to face the Pacers looking to leapfrog their rivals at the top of the Western Conference.
