US media suggest it is a dig at LeBron James and the Miami Heat…
San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich has been described as the best coach in the NBA, and after years of success he has to remind himself of how much he has actually won.
While the US media have suggested that his actions during the Spurs’ victory boat parade were perhaps a dig at LeBron James and the Miami Heat, it is fairly clear that Popovich is merely having fun with the fans as he counts through the number of championships he has now won.
Popovich can be seen counting off his titles in the clip below, which could be interpreted as a shot at James for his infamous “Not one, not two, not three…” comment he made back in 2010 when he joined the Heat.
Dismissing any potential controversy, the Spurs undoubtedly enjoyed showcasing their fifth title to the fans along the River Walk on Wednesday, and it is widely reported that Popovich, Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili will all return next year to defend their crown.
