The Eagles had previously decided to release wide receiver DeSean Jackson before last season, so fans are understandably puzzled by the Eagles’ offseason moves as they signed backup quarterback Mark Sanchez to a $16 million contract.
ESPN First Take, a show that features debates on the hottest sports topics, had regular analysts Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith debate the Eagles’ crazy offseason.
As soon as it was Smith’s turn to give his viewpoint, he launched into a rant about how the Eagles are letting wide receiver Riley Cooper stick around while McCoy, Maclin and Jackson are no longer in Philadelphia.
Smith pointed out that these moves will “leave a few brothers uncomfortable,” implying that Kelly is a racist.
