Dutch league leaders suffer surprise loss.
There was a huge shock in the Dutch Eredivisie on Saturday when SC Heerenveen overcame league leaders PSV Eindhoven 2-1 at home.
It was the hosts who took the early lead through Marten de Roon, who slotted home from close range after just eight minutes of the contest, before Yassine El Ghanassy took advantage of a poor parry by visiting keeper Boy Waterman to give Heerenveen a deserved 2-0 lead on 38 minutes.
PSV came to life in the second half, but despite star midfielder Kevin Strootman’s late strike, the home side held on for their win.
