Sounders edge ahead in title battle.
The top two sides in the Western Conference met in Seattle on Friday night.
Sounders vs Real Salt Lake was the match everyone had been waiting for and it didn’t disappoint; a lightening fast strike from Nigerian striker Obafemi Martins put the home side into the lead.
It took just two minutes and 20 seconds for the athletic former Inter Milan man to fire his side ahead with a smart finish to the right hand side, the second quickest goal in MLS history.
Martins was involved in the second goal as well, linking up well with DeAndre Yedlin who set up Lamar Neagle for Sounders second of the evening.
The result means Sounders go a point clear at the top of the table, but Real have two games in hand.
