Shakhtar will claim the title now if second-placed Metalist Kharkiv fail to win at Vorskla.
Shakhtar Donetsk overcame a stubborn challenge from Zorya on Saturday by scoring three late goals to move a step closer to winning the Ukrainian Premier League.
In what was their first outing in a month, the home side had to wait until ten minutes from time before breaking the deadlock, with defender Sergey Krivtsov heading home skipper’s Darijo Srna’s corner.
And then minutes later the match was over as contest when the in-form Henrikh Mkhitaryan tapped in Luiz Adriano’s centre, before the Brazilian himself rounded off the scoring with a goal of his own in stoppage time.
