Porter humbled by support he has received from some fans in the UK…
IBF welterweight champion Shawn “Showtime” Porter is confident that he will retain his title when he faces Kell Brook in California on Saturday night.
The 26-year-old has a 24-0-1 record with 15 victories coming by way of knockout, and many experts have suggested that Brook may struggle to deal with his power and tactics if he is drawn into a dog-fight.
Porter is full of confidence ahead of the bout and believes that he has what it takes to defeat the Sheffield-born fighter, but he conceded that he did significant research into his opponent only after the fight was announced.
While there is the potential for the American star to go on and fight the likes of Floyd Mayweather in the future, he isn’t looking beyond his next fight this Saturday and insists that he is fully focused on the task in hand.
Meanwhile, both fighters went through media workouts on Thursday and will be present at the pre-fight press conference in Los Angeles on Friday.
