Brook gives his reaction to press conference and final thoughts ahead of fight night…
Kell Brook insists that he is ready to show boxing fans “what he is all about” on Saturday night as he prepares to face Shawn Porter for the IBF welterweight title.
Porter is considered the favourite for the bout after impressive wins over Devon Alexander and Paulie Malignaggi in his last two fights, but Brook is ready to defend his unbeaten record and open up the doors to big fights in the future.
The Sheffield-born fighter’s doubters have suggested that the magnitude of the occasion might get the better of the challenger given his lack of experience against top level opposition, but ultimately Brook believes Porter will bring the best out of him and as a result he will return home as champion.
Meanwhile, Porter is full of confidence as usual, and he insists that Brook isn’t dangerous enough and hasn’t got the skills to defeat him.
The Akron native has received significant backing from the boxing world ahead of the fight, and shares the sentiment from Brook that a win on Saturday night will ultimately help him gain further respect moving forward and will also attract the attention of the division’s top names.
