The attacking midfielder’s inactivity this season prompted the hashtag #FreeShinji.
Out-of-favour Shinji Kagawa sent out a clear message to Manchester United boss David Moyes with an excellent goal for Japan.
Kagawa has pulled on a United shirt for just eight measly minutes this season since Moyes took over at Old Trafford with disgruntled supporters creating the #FreeShinji hashtag to convey their dismay at the 24-year-old’s inactivity in the opening opening weeks of the new campaign.
And the Japan attacker will certainly have dispelled the suggestion that he is unfit by getting 160 minutes worth of action under his belt during the international break and scoring the equaliser for his country in a 3-1 win over Ghana on Monday.
