Speaking to Sky Sports, the 42-year-old revealed that he has been hugely impressed with the Frenchman since his summer arrival at Old Trafford.
Martial found the net for the fifth time in nine games in the Champions League in mid-week, and Redknapp believes that the 19-year-old will have an impact against Manchester City on Sunday.
United boss Louis van Gaal has deployed the former Monaco ace in various positions so far this season, with Martial used in a wider position against both Everton and CSKA Moscow.
While that was with a view of using his pace and ability to track back and work hard for the team to nullify the threat of the opponent, it remains unclear as to whether Van Gaal will use him as the lone striker again where Martial appears to be at his most dangerous.
Nevertheless, Redknapp has been left impressed with his pace, athleticism and skill, as noted in his Sky Sports column, coupled with the goals that have ensured that he has been an instant hit with United supporters.
Unsurprisingly, a goal on Sunday would further endear him to the Old Trafford faithful, and his ability to combine with the likes of Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata will be key to United’s chances of unlocking the City defence.
Despite still being young and inexperienced, the French international showed against Liverpool in his club debut by scoring that he is unlikely to be overwhelmed by the situation.
