The all-rounder notched his first 50 in the IPL but it wasn’t enough to avoid defeat.
Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Darren Sammy says he is delighted with his first ever Twenty20 half-century, despite the fact the franchise lost their IPL match to Rajasthan Royals.
The Sunrisers were languishing at 15-5 when Sammy came into bat and his 58-run partnership with Amit Mishra helped save Hyderabad from an embarrassing total.
The West Indian was eventually out for 60, as he scored eight fours and a six before being dismissed by James Faulkner.
In the end Sammy’s side only lost the match by two runs and his effort with the bat will certainly give him and captain Kumar Sangakkara more confidence going into the Sunrisers’ next fixture.
