Opener Burns scored 114 on his first ever appearance at the ‘Home of Cricket.’
Surrey batsman Rory Burns guided his side to a healthy total after hitting a century against Middlesex in the County Championship on his first ever visit to Lord’s.
Burns helped the county bounce back after captain Graeme Smith was dismissed for a duck, as he and Arun Harinath put on 147 runs for the second wicket.
The 22-year-old couldn’t hide his delight at playing so well on his Lord’s debut, although he admitted he and Harinath had to fight for their runs against a strong Middlesex attack.
The young opener was eventually out for 114 after being bowled by Tim Murtagh.
