Surrey’s new man is looking forward to Graeme Smith leading the county this summer.
Vikram Solanki joined Surrey this summer after two years at Worcestershire and says it is County Championship side’s ambitions that attracted him.
Solanki has pinpointed the county’s capture of South African captain Graeme Smith as proof they are targeting a Division One title.
The former England man thinks it will be a tough challenge for his new team due to the fierce competition in the league, but it confident the side have what it takes to succeed.
Solanki and Smith will play their first match of the new County Championship season against Somerset next Wednesday.
