7. Mark Taylor – 104 Tests (7525 runs, average 43.49)
Left-handed batsman that opened for Australia, as well as being captain in a successful era of Australian cricket. Taylor scored 839 runs during his first Test tour, in England in 1989. The batsman was also a reliable fielder, taking a world record 157 catches from his favourite position of first slip. He took the captaincy from Allan Border in 1995 and matched Don Bradman’s Australian record of 334 runs, during a match against Pakistan in 1998.
