United fan Rashid Yiga staked his new car and his wife in return, but when a Robin Van Persie goal settled the tie, Dhabasani and his family were left homeless.
8. Blackout at the Super Bowl
The Super Bowl is one of the biggest sporting events of the year and watched by millions of people, so when the whole place went dark it got noticed.
At the time of the stadium blackout the San Francisco 49ers were trailing the Baltimore Ravens 21-6 – leading conspiracy theorists to suggest they had organised it to stop the Ravens’ momentum.
Although others said Beyonce was behind it, so not the jury is still out.. ahem. After a close finish and a great comeback the 49ers were eventually beaten 34-31.
