Williams amongst growing number of stars reacting to audio recording.
Actor Michael K. Williams, well known for his role as Omar in The Wire, has sent a message to Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling.
The basketball world has reacted angrily to the racist remarks allegedly made by Sterling, with the Clippers players holding a silent protest ahead of their clash with the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.
In addition, the feeling is shared around the league with the Portland Trail Blazers wearing black socks as a sign of unity against Sterling, while Williams used his opportunity as the PA at the Barclays Center on Sunday to send his message.
“Ladies and gentlemen, there is no room in the NBA for Donald Sterling,” he noted ahead of introducing the team.
Howard Beck of Bleacher Report and the New York Times jokingly insisted that ‘Omar is coming for you, Donald’, on Twitter, which is of course a reference to the character Williams plays on hit TV show The Wire.
