The legendary AC Milan commentator got a little excited during his team’s 3-0 win against PSV Eindhoven in their Champions League qualifier.
Soccer Saturday is a true phenomenon of modern television. Why, in an age where we can watch any football match from around the world, whenever we want, do we instead choose to watch five greying blokes shout at a screen that we can’t even see?
The obsession isn’t limited to just the British Isles. It’s also a hit in Italy, where legendary commentator Tiziano Crudeli plies his trade on Diretta Stadio.
Crudeli is probably best known to most English fans from his appearances in a string of Ladbrokes commercials, wherein he plays an over-enthusiastic and extremely vocal pundit.
What some fans may not know, is that he isn’t really playing a character at all. If anything, he tones it down a bit.
Take a look at his reactions throughout AC Milan’s 3-0 Champions League qualification victory over PSV Eindhoven, and then recall his jubilance next time you have to watch Phil Thompson drone his way through a Liverpool match:
