Tony Bellew confirmed after his win over Nathan Cleverly on Saturday night that he will be heading to Hollywood in December to play a role in the new Rocky spin-off, Creed.
Bellew secured a split-decision win over his bitter rival at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on Saturday, and he insisted that their feud had been put to bed as he looks to move on and challenge for world titles in the cruiserweight division.
However, firstly he will be travelling to Hollywood next month to play a role in the up-coming film Creed, which is directed by Ryan Coogler and is focused on the grandson of Apollo Creed with Bellew set to play the part of his opponent Pretty Boy Porter.
The 31-year-old confirmed the rumours in his post-fight press conference and although he refused to go into details about the film, he revealed that he will be out in the US to film for 40 days and that he had not discussed it previously as it was not important in the build-up to his fight with Cleverly.
Bellew conceded that he thought it had been a wind up when he first received the call, but the out-spoken Scouser will look forward to building his profile further with his appearance in the film which will also feature Sly Stallone reprising his role as Rocky Balbao to train Creed’s grandson.
