5. Antonio Freeman’s Monday Night catch, 2000
In the heyday of Brett Favre in Green Bay, one of his favorite targets was WR Antonio Freeman, who led the league in receiving yards in 1998 and helped the Packers win Superbowl XXXI over the New England Patriots.
In an overtime Monday Night Football game in 2000, Freeman caught what initially appeared to be an incomplete pass while lying on his back—after almost being intercepted by Chris Dishman, the ball actually bounced off multiple parts of Freeman’s body without hitting the ground. Untouched by the defender, Freeman jumped to his feet and ran the ball in for the winning touchdown over the rival Minnesota Vikings. The epic quote from Al Michael was, “He did what?!”
