2. Andy Flower – Zimbabwe, 4794 runs, average 51.54:
Almost certainly the best player in Zimbabwean Test history the current England coach dragged a mediocre Zimbabwe team through many matches in the early 2000s.
Flower had two stints as captain of the national side, leading them to their first Test victory against Pakistan in 1994 and then on their first tour of England in 2000.
In 2001 the wicketkeeper scored 540 runs for two dismissals on a tour of India and then scored back-to-back centuries against South Africa.
Since turning his hand to coaching Flower has helped England to two Ashes victories, their first ICC trophy and a number one ranking in Test cricket.
