The South African one-day captain is a naturally gifted athlete and an unbelievable cricketer. At just 29-years-old he has already played 85 Test matches and should feature for many years to come.
His sure-footed shots and quickness between the wicket means de Villiers scores runs quickly and he has been utilised throughout the batting order.
The wicketkeeper made his debut against England in 2004 where his talent was spotted very early on, before he went on to be the first double-centurion South African, against India with 217.
