Take a closer look at the best young prospects in the NBA.
With the likes of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant leading the way for the current generation of NBA superstars, what does the future hold for the league beyond them?
The league looks as if it is going to be in safe hands. Scattered across the country are some precocious talents awaiting their turn in the limelight.
Honourable mentions must be given to the likes of Jrue Holiday and Anthony Davis who will undoubtedly be a part of the NBA moving forward, as will the numerous players already at a superstar level despite still being on the right side of 25.
Durant, Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, Blake Griffin and James Harden will all harbour hopes of having great careers ahead, but lets take a closer look at the class below.
5. Ricky Rubio
The Minnesota Timberwolves point guard is arguably the most creative player in the league, providing endless highlight reels through the course of the season.
His progress was stunted last year after suffering a knee injury, but Rubio has again started to show exactly why so many people are excited about him.
The 22-year-old floor general has the vision and ability to execute that few others have in the NBA, and it is a matter of time until the Spaniard becomes a superstar in his own right.
Things are moving in the right direction, and as shown in the video below with his first career triple-double, it won’t be long before he is recognised as being up there with the best.
