3. Derrick Rose – Chicago Bulls
After a remarkable return in pre-season, the excitement surrounding Rose’s return to competitive NBA action was short-lived as he continues to struggle.
The 25-year-old will be delighted to have returned to the court after almost 18 months on the sidelines, and while he has displayed signs of his former explosive self, there are currently flaws in his game that need to be ironed out.
Highlight since his return: His game-winning shot against the New York Knicks which Chicago would have hoped would of been the catalyst which would help improve his shooting and general play.
However, his turnovers coupled with his indifferent shooting numbers have somewhat tempered initial expectations of the Bulls, although it is expected that he will have a break-out game sooner rather than later which will ultimately give him the confidence to return to his former elite level.
Current Average Statistics: 14.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists.
