Toronto seal place in the play-offs with win on Saturday.
The Toronto Maple Leafs secured their place in the post season for the first time in eight seasons, following their 4-1 win over the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.
James Reimer had a huge game as he made 49 saves, while Toronto were given a helping hand by the New York Islanders, after their shoot-out win over the Winnipeg Jets allowed the Maple Leafs to achieve their play-off ambition.
Toronto are 25-15-3 for the season and sit in fifth place in the Eastern Conference with three games remaining. James van Riemsdyk scored twice, while Cody Franson and Phil Kessel each had two assists to ease the Leafs past their rivals.
Jakob Silfverberg ensured the Senators got on the scoreboard, but they remain in seventh place in the East with 52 points, and are just three points above the Jets.
