‘The Raptor’ out of action with torn Achilles.
The Toronto Raptors mascot has suffered a season-ending injury after sustaining a torn Achilles during a performance at a community event.
Although there has been no confirmation from the team, as seen in the video below ‘The Raptor’ was attempting a back-flip on Thursday where it is believed he suffered the injury.
However, in scenes reminiscent of Kobe Bryant taking to the free-throw line after suffering the same injury last season, the mascot bravely continued his routine and high-fived a kid before limping off stage and out of sight.
It remains to be seen whether or not his recovery process will now be followed in the same way as Derrick Rose last year during his comeback from a torn ACL.
While it is a sad story given that the NBA season begins in just over two weeks time, here’s to wishing that he makes a swift and full recovery. Get well soon Raptor!
