Spurs get pre-season back on track with friendly demolition…
Tottenham handed out a footballing lesson to South China today, beating them 6-0 in the Barclays Asia trophy in Hong Kong.
Jermaine Defoe bagged an impressive hat-trick, while Andros Townsend and Clint Dempsey scored one each, after South China had scored an own goal for Spurs.
The gulf in class was all too clear, although Tottenham were again without star player Gareth Bale, who has been the subject of intense speculation regarding his future all week.
The 6-0 rout will cheer fans up after a miserable friendly defeat to Sunderland, which saw Jan Vertonghen stretchered off last Wednesday.
