A valiant Troyes side lost to PSG at home in Ligue 1.
Troyes were narrowly beaten at home by a Paris Saint-Germain side continuing their relentless push for the Ligue 1 title.
The home side were highly unfortunate not to get anything out of the game, but one of their old players returned to haunt them – as so often proves the case in football the world over.
Former Troyes midfielder Blaise Matuidi crashed home the winner for PSG at the back post from Gregory Van Der Wiel’s cross.
As the old adage says, the true sign of a championship team is winning when not playing well, and having fended off wave after wave of Troyes attacks, Paris Saint-Germain scored a single goal and held out to secure victory.
Thanks to another three points, PSG look ever more destined to become champions of France.
