On the second tackle, and 15 metres from their try-line, the Roosters shifted the ball to the left. Michael Jennings drew two defenders and put Daniel Tupou in space.
Tupou raced away down the flank and got a great offload off to Maloney. The half had 48 metres to go but evaded two tackles to get over the line.
It was the kind of try that shows how dangerous the Roosters are from any spot on the field. They have the talent and skills to hurt teams from just about every position.
Maloney’s score took the Roosters to a 32-6 lead with eight minutes left. He then slotted the coversion from the sideline.
See the great try here.
