While Fury’s ultimate aim this year is to fight either Wladimir Klitschko or Deontay Wilder for a world title, he will need to keep his focus on Hammer this weekend as he puts his mandatory position for the WBO strap on the line.
With Klitschko set to face Bryant Jennings in April, the 26-year-old Brit will be hopeful of securing a title bout in the coming months depending on negotiations as he has insisted that he wants to topple the reigning heavyweight king.
Nevertheless, a fight with Wilder also appeals given that the pair have engaged in a Twitter war for months, and so that may well be a possibility for him too further down the line if a meeting with Klitschko fails to materialise.
For now, all eyes will be on the O2 on Saturday to see whether or not he can deal with the threat of Hammer, with many making him a huge favourite to come through unscathed given his height and reach advantage over his opponent.
Hammer certainly brings danger to the ring, and it appears as though he won’t allow his opponent to bully him as the pair had to be separated by security at the weigh-in on Friday.
