Capitals extend winning streak to five with win on Tuesday night.
Alex Ovechkin scored his sixth goal in three games to spark the Washington Capitals into a 3-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens.
It was the Capitals sixth win in seven games, but it didn’t come without its fair share of scares with Michal Neuvirth making 27 saves to hold off a late Canadiens rally at the Bell Centre.
Eric Fehr and Jack Hillen added the other two goals for Washington, but it is Ovechkin who is stealing the headlines as he remains tied with Steven Stamkos for the NHL lead in goals at 26.
The Capitals will be hoping to maintain their current form, which now sees them sitting at the top of the Southeast Division.
