Win marred by injury to Curry but tests suggest no long-lasting damage.
The Golden State Warriors secured a 101-92 win over the Washington Wizards on Saturday night, with Stephen Curry scoring 35 points on 13-for-18 shooting from the field.
However, the point guard left the game mid-way through the fourth quarter with an ankle injury and did not return. X-rays came back negative for a fracture, and it is hoped Curry will return on Monday to face the Los Angeles Lakers.
Klay Thompson had 18 points while David Lee also contributed 16 points and 12 rebounds to seal his 47th double-double of the season, a league-high this year.
Cartier Martin had a team-high 23 points for the Wizards, but it wasn’t enough to snatch the win at the Oracle Arena.
The Warriors now prepare for the all-important game with the Lakers, while the Wizards host the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday.
