Chilean coach feels progression was deserved, despite ‘terrible’ first-leg.
Manuel Pellegrini says Malaga deserve to be in the Champions League quarter-finals after the La Liga outfit beat Porto 2-0 at La Rosadela on Wednesday, to seal a 2-1 aggregate victory.
Pellegrini, who has been linked with summer moves to Manchester City and Chelsea after a fine season with the club, says his side ‘played a terrible match’ in Portugal but believes they were deserved winners after a dominant performance in Spain.
Porto coach Vitor Pereira said his side gave the hosts too much space and possession in the first half.
