Eagles place more pressure on Lions’ coach Michael Voss after another loss.
The West Coast Eagles exploded out of the blocks in the final quarter to seal an important 26-point victory against the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba.
While the final margin was comfortable enough for the visiting Eagles, they did not seal the four points until the final term, where they kick seven goals to snuff out any chance of a upset win by the home side.
The loss for the Lions, their fifth for the season, puts more pressure on coach Michael Voss, with his place at the club called into question when Brisbane released a statement giving the incumbent their full support.
But the press release did not stop Matt Priddis and the Eagles running riot through the last quarter to secure the 17.6 (108) to 12.10 (82).
Priddis was the best-on-ground for the Eagles in securing 29 disposals while Josh Kennedy bagged four goals to go with a trio to small forward Mark LeCras.
For the Lions, Tom Rockliff was a star in a losing side in securing 34 possessions roving for much of the game while Pearce Hanley was also busy on the wing in gaining 31 touches.
