James Tomkins finished West Ham’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United on Sunday with a broken nose.
The Hammers defender suffered the injury in a clash with Marouane Fellaini.
However, Tomkins was more upset with a challenge made by Robin van Persie.
Tomkins is quoted by The Guardian as saying: “The nose is a bit swollen. Fellaini was the second time in the match when I broke it. He has always got that about him when he goes up with his hands a lot.
“It is tough to say he does it deliberately, but with the Van Persie one, I think he had a look at me first and then he has gone for me. I think that was more malicious than the other one, even though I came out worse the second time.”
You can watch Van Persie’s elbow on Tomkins below. Do you think it was deliberate and malicious, or just accidental?
