Penguins on the brink of history with incredible winning streak.
Two goals from Pascal Dupuis and a 50th career shut-out for Tomas Vokoun inspired the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 4-0 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night.
The win was the Penguins 14th consecutive triumph and should they win at home on Saturday against the New York Islanders, it would cap the only calendar month of at least 10 games without a loss or tie by a team in NHL history.
The Penguins have made a habit shutting out their opponents, this was their second consecutive game without conceding while they have only allowed nine goals in their last 10 games.
With impressive additions being made to the roster, they look a formidable outfit as they continue to stretch their lead at the top of the Eastern Conference.
While the Chicago Blackhawks made all the headlines earlier in the season for their record breaking run, the Penguins are now just a game away from writing their names in the history books too.
