Arsenal star Mesut Ozil is amongst a number of footballers to have made horrendous rap videos. Here we showcase the worst ever examples of footballers and hip hop in a cautionary tale.
Footballers make terrible rappers. It shouldn’t need saying, but we’re saying it anyway.
Who ever told Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil he should consider entering the world of hip hop? Or former Manchester United forward Andy Cole?
Here are the worst MCs ever from the world of professional football.
1. Emmanuel Frimpong
Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong’s life now seems to revolve around a word he made up with rapper Lethal Bizzle called “dench”, which apparently means “cool” despite no synonym being required.
The soulless duo released a desperately unsubtle piece of marketing for their brand in 2012 courtesy of Leave It Yeah, in which Frimpong yells “Stay dench or get Frimponged” over and over again and somehow doesn’t feel like he’s lost his way somewhere in life.
2. Clint Dempsey
Seattle Sounders striker Clint Dempsey, who recently rejoined Fulham on loan, goes by the rap name of Deuce.
From this video, we can see why he’d want to use a pseudonym.
Dempsey brilliantly sabotages any modicum of cool he might have been considered to have with a ridiculous display of faux-gangsta posturing.
