AVB wants de la Bella to switch to White Hart Lane.
Tottenham Hotspur want to bring in Real Sociedad full-back Alberto de la Bella as manager Andre Villas-Boas is keen to improve his defence, according to the Mirror.
AVB has pinpointed the left-back position as an area that Spurs are weak and wants to sign de la Bella to sure up the back four.
The Spaniard was instrumental in an extraordinary season for Sociedad that saw the La Liga side go one better than the north London club and finish fourth in the league – therefore qualifying for the Champions League.
The side finished ahead of both Valencia and Malaga, two teams that would have been favoured to beat de la Bella’s club to the top domestic European competition.
However, despite not being able to offer the defender Champions League football Villas-Boas is hoping that the lure of the Premier League will be enough for the left-back.
De la Bella made 36 appearances for Sociedad in the league during the 2012/13 campaign, scoring three goals and assisting two more.
Yet with the club being one of only a few Spanish sides without financial difficulties and with the 27-year-old contracted until 2015, they are in no rush to sell their key defender.
Spurs currently have two recognised left-backs at White Hart Lane in Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Danny Rose – although Rose spent last season on-loan at Sunderland and may be loaned out again next campaign.
The north London club also experimented with Kyle Naughton and Jan Vertonghen in the position, although neither would rate left-back as their first choice.
Therefore de la Bella may be the perfect acquisition as Tottenham prepare to once again make their march on the Champions League places.
