If there was ever a question about Seahawks QB Russell Wilson’s ability to make big throws in the clutch, they were answered on this play. With the team up by 7, the Seahawks needed a first down to prevent Washington from driving down the field. Then Wilson made this throw:
With no fewer than 3 defenders virtually breathing down his neck, Wilson delivered the 30-yard strike to RB Marshawn Lynch for a first down. Several plays later the team kicked a FG that all but ended the game.
Those are the kind of plays that NFL MVPs are made of – and depending how this season turns out, that’s just what it might lead to.
