Who is the bigger footballing legend – Pelé, or Cristiano Ronaldo?
Luxury airline Emirates are asking the question to fans of the world’s favourite sport after signing up Portuguese superstar Ronaldo as a Global Ambassador to join Brazilian legend Pelé.
The two brilliant forwards from past and present paired up for a hilarious video filmed in the on-lounge of the Emirates’ A380, battling it out to decide who is the more legendary player, which you can watch below.
Pelé famously lifted the FIFA World Cup trophy on three occasions, in 1958, 1962 and 1970, and is one of just five footballers to have officially scored more than 1000 goals in their career. He is widely hailed as the greatest player of all time.
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored over a goal per game since moving to Real Madrid, and looks set to go down in history as one of the All Time Greats
Official Partners of the FIFA World Cup since 2006, Emirates are renowned for connecting people all over the world through both their flights and their portfolio of international sports and cultural sponsorships, and the airline are keen to hear the views of football fans globally on a new debate.
Whether Pelé, Cristiano Ronaldo, Franz Beckenbauer, Ferenc Puskas, Diego Maradona, Zinedine Zidane, the Brazilian Ronaldo – il Fenomeno – or someone else entirely, Emirates want to know who is your favourite footballer ever!
