3) Style of play
Given his price tag and his injury record, Walcott clearly doesn’t look worthwhile for Liverpool – and just to seal it, it’s plain to see he’s an inferior player to Raheem Sterling anyway. Walcott is a far more limited and one-dimensional wide-player, who does not exactly excel in a variety of different positions, linking up the play as players are expected to do in Rodgers’ set-up. It’s hard to see him fitting into this current Liverpool team, and the club simply has to aim higher if a world class talent such as Sterling does leave.
