The Washington Redskins finished their preseason with a 3-1 record as they beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 24-10. They jumped out to a 17-3 lead in the third quarter, but the Buccaneers responded with a score to pull within seven points.
However, the Redskins sealed it with another touchdown in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Colt McCoy made the start for the Redskins and shined, throwing for 321 yards and two touchdowns on 22-of-29 passing.
He threw two interceptions, but he was otherwise spectacular and made a case for the Redskins to make room for him on the roster.
Rookie running back Lache Seastrunk may have set his roster spot in stone with an 80-yard touchdown catch. He also rushed for 23 yards on six carries.
Silas Redd led the team in rushing with 79 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. On defense, defensive end Clifton Geathers shined with two sacks.
Mike Glennon started at quarterback for the Buccaneers and was pulled after one drive. Mike Kafka stepped in and threw a touchdown pass and completed 7-of-14 of his passes for 86 yards.
