The Washington Redskins will face the Cleveland Browns in their next preseason game, and it will feature two dual-threat quarterbacks in Robert Griffin III and Johnny Manziel.
The Washington Redskins will face the Cleveland Browns Monday after opening their preseason with a victory over the New England Patriots.
Robert Griffin III played in just one series, so his nine passing yards are not a reason for concern. However, Kirk Cousins looked fantastic with 103 yards and a touchdown on 9-for-13 passing.
Rookie running back Lache Seastrunk will look to cement a roster spot after having an impressive preseason debut with 63 rushing yards on 12 carries.
Meanwhile, for the Browns, quarterback Brian Hoyer made the start and played decently but did nothing to distance himself from Johnny Manziel, who played solidly in his debut.
The running game had a forgettable performance as rookie Terrance West rushed for only 22 yards on 10 carries. Ben Tate performed well with 25 yards on six carries, but the running game sputtered as soon he was taken out. Manziel led the team in rushing with 27 yards.
First-round rookie cornerback Justin Gilbert will make the start for the Browns, and he is expected to be the counterpart to All-Pro cornerback Joe Haden.
