Wayne Rooney drew level with Sir Bobby Charlton on 49 England goals with the opener in the 6-0 thrashing of San Marino this evening.
The Manchester United striker can now become his country’s most prolific ever marksman with a goal against Switzerland at Wembley on Tuesday.
Judging by Twitter reaction, some fans would be more pleased to see him break the record than others…
