2. Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State
Mississippi State faced a serious upset bid from Arkansas, who was clearly hungry for their first SEC victory since they have not won a conference game since beating Kentucky in October 2012. They have lost 17 straight SEC matchups since. They were nearly able to snap their streak in dramatic fashion.
However, Prescott was able to overcome a shaky performance and throw for 331 yards and ultimately throw the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter before the Bulldogs defense sealed a 17-10 win with a game-ending interception in their own end zone. Prescott throwing two interceptions keeps him below the top of the Heisman race, but there is still plenty of time for him to rise.
Stats: 2,025 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, 7 interceptions, 61.1 completion percentage; 137 carries, 725 rushing yards, 10 touchdowns; 2 receptions, 35 receiving yards, 1 touchdown
