3. Trevone Boykin, QB, TCU
The Horned Frogs quarterback can no longer be ignored as a legitimate Heisman candidate as he has helped lead his team to an 8-1 record, and they would be 9-0 if not for a defensive breakdown against Baylor. Boykin just led TCU to a blowout win at home against Big 12 frontrunner Kansas State.
The quarterback rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries. Boykin now has 23 touchdown passes with just four interceptions along with great rushing numbers, but his accuracy leaves a lot to be desired. Throwing seven touchdown passes against Texas Tech officially put Boykin on the Heisman radar though, and continuing to win would make him a worthy finalist.
Stats: 2,691 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, 4 interceptions, 58.0 completion percentage; 111 carries, 546 rushing yards, 7 touchdowns
