1. Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon
The Ducks quarterback led his team to a 51-27 win over No. 17 Utah, who boasts a physical defense. Oregon was able to overcome the Utah defense after taking on a Stanford defense that had been ranked at the top before allowing 45 points to the Ducks. Mariota put together another fantastic performance as he threw three touchdown passes and rushed for another. Mariota also had his first 100-yard rushing game of the season, and he has the Ducks in prime position to enter the Pac-12 championship with one loss.
Oregon clinched the Pac-12 North championship with their win, and they now have just Colorado and Oregon State ahead. Mariota will have to hold off Prescott potentially leading Mississippi State to an undefeated season, but the junior should have no problem winning the Heisman if the Ducks win out and he continues to post big numbers.
Stats: 2,780 passing yards, 29 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, 67.1 completion percentage; 89 carries, 524 rushing yards, 8 touchdowns; 1 reception, 26 receiving yards, 1 touchdown
