3. Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama
A wide receiver has not won the Heisman Trophy since Desmond Howard of Michigan won it in 1991, but Cooper is continuing to make a serious case for himself as he is the focal point of an offense on the team that is now arguably No. 1 in the country. Cooper is on pace to reach 100 receptions, and he already has 11 touchdown catches.
The Crimson Tide have two games left plus the SEC championship if they make it there, so Cooper still has plenty of time to put up big numbers. He has caught eight passes for at least 80 yards in his past two games against LSU and Mississippi State, who both have one of the best defenses in the nation.
Stats: 87 receptions, 1,311 receiving yards, 11 touchdowns
