Arsenal stopper Wojciech Szczesny possibly told he will not play against this season.
Szczesny has not played for the Gunners since the 2-0 Premier League defeat to Southampton on New Year’s Day, a game in which the 24-year-old was criticised for his performance.
After the match the ‘keeper was also accused of smoking in the showers and Wenger has since dropped the Pole and damned his actions in a press conference.
However, Tomaszewski says that he thinks the Frenchman is making a scapegoat out of Szczesny because he needs and excuse should the North Londoners fail to qualify for the Champions League this season.
“I think the smoking in the showers incident was only an excuse to fine Wojciech. Wenger made sure someone was a scapegoat,” the 67-year-old was quoted by CaughtOffside.
“He is losing in the race for the Champions League places and if they miss out, that would be a huge loss. Szczesny was at fault for both goals against Southampton, but that’s not the most important thing in this situation.”
